The family-owned agricultural estate of the Lupić family from Bale began its olive cultivation by planting the first olive grove in the year 2000. The family’s idea was to revive tradition, so they started the restoration of old neglected olive groves. Since then, 11 hectares of land have been cleared and put into operation, with 7 hectares planted with olive trees, totaling 1400 trees of indigenous varieties: buža, puntoža, rožinjola, negrolina, from which they produce top-quality oils. The high quality of extra virgin olive oil is attested by numerous awards from the first harvests, and the Lupić family farm is included in the eno-gastronomic guide through Istria, “ISTRA GOURMET,” as well as in the guide to the best world extra virgin oils by the renowned Marco Oreggia, “FLOS OLEI.”
