OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE HOUSE OF ISTRIAN OLIVE OIL

The House of Istrian Olive oil was officialy opened on the 9th of May 2017 in the presence of many guests and dignitaries form the City of Pula, Istrian County, Ministry of Tourism and the Croatian Tourist Board, along with the media representatives and tourism professionals.

The first museum of olive growing and olive oil in Croatia brings a new space dedicated to istrian olive oil and the history of olive oil production to the city of Pula and the whole region. As a combination of culture, gastronomy and tourism, the House of Istrian Olive Oil is a contemporary cultural and touristic product. The visitors can discover olive oil production in Istria through history and the present day technologies, from planting to harvesting and processing, as well as all health beneficials of olive oil.

Presented are the many varieties grown in Istria and the Olive Oil Roads.

The Museum is located in a revitalized complex of a former factory, in a historical building from the beginning of the 20th century, thus reviving a space of industrial architecture within the Pula old town. The contemporary industrial design is a recognizable signature of the designer Željko Burić.
